Testimony
in the "Tricket v. Ochs" Safe Farming Case: Testimony
to House Agriculture Committee on Right to Farm by Annette Smith,
Vermonters for a Clean Environment, (January
23, 2004).
Citizens
for Safe Farming is working to continue its public advocacy,
support of safe farming legislation and - most
importantly - its negotiation with Hinsdale Farms over the future
of safe farming in the Bingham Brook Valley. As many of you know,
we have long maintained that the development of a Large Farm Operation
(LFO) in the Valley poses major public health and pollution concerns
for the more than 100 families living within a mile of the proposed
location. We
are currently in the early stages of dialogue with Hinsdale Farms
about a mutually agreed upon
"Master Plan" for the Bingham Brook Valley, and will continue
to keep our supporters advised on any progress.
In the mean time, thank you for your continued financial and moral
support for Citizens for Safe Farming.
